sketches

Some sketches I did over the past week or so...

I got to use my new Facial Expressions book for this one...I had fun with these two.

Umm........I was sketching and the song Fergalicious came on, so I added the lyrics at the last moment.

I like the old lady with the Fergalicious line a lot. I would have loved to have watched you do this, because I picture it being penned out effortlessly onto the screen, like a thought jotted down on a cocktail napkin. GREAT expression & the Fergalicious bit is so perfectly random that it reads like she's a sassy older woman. Grrrowr. :P

The other piece with the young couple it just amazing. The details is just great, while not going overboard. This is an area that I really look for and see in your work. Detail where it counts, not where it gets noisy. The expressions are great. She's kinda got a look of "oh my" to his look of "oh no". Maybe she had him join her on the balcony, and acted as though she was going to fall over the edge, he swept in, arm around her to save her and at that moment the door, which only opens from inside, closed with a gust of wind, leaving him a bit concerned, while being just to plan for her. Just a thought.

Love the shading, the textures, the expressions, the whole thing. GREAT work!

Jon! Guess what? I DID get to watch her draw that picture. And you know what? I WAS penned out effortlessly onto the screen, like a thought jotted down on a cocktail napkin. Doesn't that just piss you off? lol Just kidding, Lou...

And as for the other one. Lou will probably have already told you about the characters when you read this. But they're first cousins.. And he's gay. lol So they're just being big hams. Avery and Leo, two divas.

the effortless creation does not surprise me at all. She's crazy good.

The characters work great with the example you gave, but my example was more Friends and your example is more Will and Grace. We're all in prime time, but I'm on first. :P

haha

PS - what's the story behind the eyes?

Just a wierd fluke. His mom's eyes are green and his dad's are violet/blue. And Leo just couldn't decide which he wanted. lol

Yeah, this was explained to me today - just after she stopped laughing at my story...
